who we are

The Friends of Madison Park (FOMP) is a community-based group of residents and others who are working together and with the City of Lakewood Ohio to revitalize Madison Park, a fifteen-acre park in the southeastern section of the City. Founded at the suggestion of Councilwoman Mary Louise Madigan, FOMP had its first meeting on March 1st, 2008.

Since that time, we have worked with the City to design and install a new state-of the-art playground; held several park clean-ups and landscaping projects; worked to develop hand-outs and signage to communicate appropriate use and care of the park; had a logo and a comprehensive marketing plan developed for the group and the Park; and sponsored a Design Charrette to develop a park master plan.

In June, 2009 we sponsored the first Summer Kick-off and plan to have more programming in Madison Park. FOMP has ambitious plans for Madison Park, and as a part of The Lakewood Foundation, a 501(c)3 charitable organization, we are raising funds to make our vision a reality.
